Grace 30 clean and jerk at 135lbs had to use steel weights so no dropping, which adds alot more than I thought to the suck factor. 3:50 a far cry from 2:55 with bumpers but a lot better than around 6 minutes last time I did it with steel weights. At least I could actually use the gym today, but I ahd to cram it in during lunch time. To all the PR's set yesterday Awesome work I wish I was there to set a real one with you all.
I'm sitting here at work wondering where my buddy is who does props and special effects for movies. With those new ropes I'm thinking of borrowing his chain mail suit tonight for the double unders.
Due to space and equipment we paired up. Scott had to suffer through this with me as his partner.
Tony, holy freaking scary fast ropes. I knew they were fast when I tried Tony5s a couple of months back but I could only do singles then, doing doubles I swear those things are splitting atoms.
Double Under Practice with new ropes Just wrote down any sets higher than 5. They totalled 242 but there were lots of singles, doubles, and sets of 5's that are not included. Highest set was 48, lowest at 16.
Those ropes are FFAASSSTTT!! Really gotta watch it cause boy do they hurt when you miss. hahaha!!
Cleans felt good! Just wanted a quick metcon to get the heart rate up. Finished off with 10 minutes of double under practise. Technique is getting better (small jumps), but timing is still off for long stretches of consecutive jumps.

These felt really hard but I managed to grind them out. I felt quite dizzy after the heavy sets, but this is quite normal for me so I didn't think much of it until I started the WOD.
This was more of a mental struggle than a physical one. I felt dizzy and just a little 'off' during the metcon and I really let it affect me. There were several times I was negotiating with myself to pick up the wall ball or start skipping again Tony 'encouraged' me several times too ;) . On a good note, I didn't really end up lashing myself too much with the new ropes. My DUs were all over the place, tho. I remember a couple of good strings (up to 14 on one) in the middle but the last set of 10 were one at a time.
Nice double unders, Sophie! Congrats on getting 5 skips in a row, Clarence!

Thanks to Heidi for the encouragement in the 20's on wall ball. Helped me crank out the last two sets faster than I might have otherwise. Skipping was annoying me to no end though. Took until the last few sets for me to string together more than ten straight singles because the rope kept getting caught in my toes.
Not sure what Jodi said to me when my expletives started getting pretty loud, but luckily I started to improve by the last few sets. :)
