Looking lean and mean you two!
My claustrophobia ran deep today. People packed together for training leaves me feeling anxious. It’s a never ending battle but just another on a long list. Let’s face it, I’m a complex person. I’m riddled with phobias and such. Thus my goals must often be modified to conquer a specific item. I still felt the anxiety creep in during set 5 of strength work. Even though I knew that I could complete the task, a fear crept in. I blame the internet.
Regardless of these setbacks, yours truly persevered and with the organized participation of four other participants, managed to stay on track for each set during our strength work. This even surprised Jody when she stopped by to check up on us. A station with five people generally doesn’t complete their sets within the time allotted. We did though. The word “awesome” suddenly comes to mind. That’s just how we roll.
The anxiety continued during the work out. I was unsure of my space and thought for sure that I was going to accidentally whip someone with one of the new cords. Even though I like the new ropes, they bring with them a distinct form of pain. That’s how we can tell they’re of good quality.
By my third set, I knew that I was not going to achieve the dominance I was seeking over my planks. The pain was great and overwhelming. I would count the seconds in my head but I was counting too fast. The doubt was creeping in this time. It would undermine my success and mental wellness. It often does. Such is it’s nature. I’m just another victim to uncertainty.
Jodi, how do you manage to look so great in all your lifting pictures? haha
Marie, I don't know...I look pretty scary in some of them. LOL!
