The workouts at our gym always include warm up, strength, conditioning, and mobility. Everything is customized to your level by a professional strength coach. Today's conditioning work includes thrusters and burpees.

JUDGES AND ATHLETES: 14.5 starts tomorrow at 12pm sharp! Heats will be posted in the gym. Please arrive no later than 11:30 so you can start your warm up if you are in the first heat. My advice is simple: break the thrusters into smaller sets unless you are 100% confident in your ability to go unbroken (highly unlikely). Take your time on the burpees and just keep moving. Expect extreme discomfort, burning quads, and burning shoulders. There's no way to sugar coat this - it's by far the worst workout of the open and you will hurt. ENJOY!

14.5 scaled to 29 kg time 23:32 - official time DNF because the weight was not Rx
It was tough to have to accept that I would get no score on this one, but it didn't take long to realize that Coach Jodi was right in making me scale it - I would never have finished it and given my shoulder history and recent overhead weights all being light, I probably would have only hurt myself if I had tried it at 43 kg. Thanks for looking out for me (as always) Jodi! Coach is always right, even if I'm not happy about the decision at first :)
BTW 29 kg is the Rx weight for Masters 55+, so if I were 5 years older, it would have counted ;)
